She continues to grow and surprise everyone. She is measuring right on track and my cervix hasn't gotten any worse, or as Dr. Wheeler says, "The barn door is staying closed".
The doctor said we WILL be doing a c-section for sure, which I figured.
I have my fetal echo cardiogram this coming Wednesday. I asked Dr. Wheeler if we would know more this time around than we did after our last one. He said "yes, I feel really bad about the last one. I sent you there not knowing Dr. Ghazali was out of town visiting family (IN PAKISTAN). When he goes to visit family, he isn't gone for a short time, he is gone for months. But, we went ahead with the previous echo because we didn't think we would have enough time to do another one later. They decided to send the results to a doctor in Indianapolis who wasn't able to tell me what I needed to know. This time, you will see Dr. Ghazali and we will decide where we want you to deliver. Hopefully we can keep you here in Fort Wayne, just for your sanity." I told him I don't care where I go, I just want what is best for little miss.
Dr. Wheeler again said, "This is a conversation I didn't think we would ever get to. I worried about you losing the baby, I worried about preterm labor, I am still going to worry about you, but you are doing a great job with this little one."
I asked if I need to do a more extensive bed rest and he said, no. "Rest as much as you can, but be a mom to your son because here in about a month you might not be able to be that much of a mom. Just keep doing what you're doing". That's good news in my book.
My favorite nurse is back! Woohoo, she is the only one that has been able to give me my progesterone shot without it hurting. She has been gone for 2 weeks with the flu and vacation. Her comment to me today was, "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever". I told her I am selfish and I was glad she was back from vacation because I missed her. She laughed and told me she should be here the rest of the time I am pregnant. :)
It feels good that the whole office knows me by name without having to look at my chart, including Dr. Wheeler. I walked by his office today before my appointment started and he called out "Hey Kel". I know it seems silly, but it is nice to know that my doctor doesn't have to look at my chart to know who I am. I remember with Jack we "knew" the doctor that delivered him (he delivered the triplets in Ethans family 17-ish years ago). He knew that and would talk to us about it, but it was written on my chart. So every time before seeing me, he looked at the chart to remind himself of who I was and then remembered our relation to the triplets. Granted I am seeing Dr. Wheeler ALOT more frequently than I saw Jacks doctor, but still. Its nice having the entire office staff and my doctor know me by name.
Hooray for good news today! Lets keep it up!
